LAND
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
Rook's Theatre gratefully acknowledges that the work we do takes place on Turtle Island, in what is known today as the City of Hamilton. Here, we are situated on the traditional territories of the Erie, Neutral, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee and Mississaugas. This land is covered by the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, an agreement between the Haudenosaunee and Anishnaabek to share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes.

Holiday Radio Play Series
This life-affirming solo piece is hysterically funny and deeply moving; an interactive experience, unlike anything you’ve seen before...
You’re seven years old. Mom’s in the hospital. Dad says she’s “done something stupid.” She finds it hard to be happy. So you start to make a list of everything that’s brilliant about the world. Everything that’s worth living for.
1. Ice cream.
2. Water fights.
3. Staying up past your bedtime and being allowed to watch TV.
4. The colour yellow.
5. Rollercoasters.
6. Me.
You leave it on her pillow. You know she’s read it because she’s corrected your spelling. Soon, the list will take on a life of its own...
“Every Brilliant Thing is evidence, which we may need, that life matters, and that theatre matters.”
- FUSE
“The funniest play you’ll see about depression...”
- The Guardian

CONTENT WARNING/
While Every Brilliant Thing is a celebration of all that is “truly brilliant” about the world around us, the play contains descriptions of depression, self-harm, and suicide.
If you or somebody you know is struggling, call Talk Suicide Canada at 1-833-456-4566.
This production involves light audience participation. It's never cruel, and it's never embarrassing, but it IS heartwarming and joyful. No two performances will ever be the same.
