About
Rook's Theatre was founded in Hamilton in 2017 under the simple and stubborn premise that good theatre doesn't need a permanent home to have a permanent impact.

Rook's Theatre
We make site-specific, deliberately intimate productions in churches, cafés, mission halls and galleries because we believe the space a story lives in is part of the story. It's true every time.
Hamilton has an arts community that punches well above its weight. We've been proud to make work in partnership with Eucharist Church, St. Luke's Mission, the Hamilton Conservatory for the Arts, 541 Eatery and Exchange, the Canadian Mental Health Association, and others - organizations doing meaningful things in this city, with whom we've tried to do the same. We work in and with the city we love.
Our mainstage productions bring challenging, carefully chosen plays into spaces that make theatre feel immediate and unavoidable.
Young Rooks is where emerging theatre artists are invited into the rehearsal room to take part in the work.
Rook's Hatch is made up of our associate artists and the people we love to make the work with.
